McDonald’s and its customers donated EUR 28 thousand during a charity campaign McHappy Day. The collected funds will be spent to support children with cancer. The funds that were being collected all through November by purchasing special campaign symbols, acquired at any McDonald’s restaurant in Lithuania, contributed to the equipment of Mamų unija Family Home.

Over the month of November each McDonald’s customer in Lithuania was being urged to participate in the McHappy Day campaign and to support the charity foundation Mamų unija in their quest to help children and their families by enabling them to stay together during the most trying times in their lives. The donations will be allocated to the equipment of Mamų unija Family Home where children suffering from oncological illnesses will be able to live together with their families.

“Each McHappy Day donation is a vital contribution to helping children with cancer. McDonald’s has been Mamų unija’s partner for a long-time. This year McDonald’s McHappy Day campaign proved to be an event uniting our partners and McDonald’s customers for a single purpose – to help more children to get better”, commented Vladimir Janevski, McDonald’s General Manager Baltics.

The Family Home will be both a place to live for the family of an ill child and a space to share their story and experience with other families. This big and beautiful project is being developed through private funding only and with the donations made by kind-hearted people and socially-responsible companies. “We are happy that the McDonald’s chain and its customers chose to contribute to a better future of children with cancer and their families”, head of Mamų unija Justina Mėlinauskaitė said.
